 Interregional Charitable Public Foundation for the promotion of human development, society, culture Sofia was founded in 1999, was registered 03.04.2000 (registration number 13278). In summer 2008, the Foundation became Interregional. It has regional offices in the Moscow, Kaluga and Voronezh regions. The Foundation has established good cooperation with other charitable organizations that operate in the territory of the Tver, Yaroslavl, Murmansk, Tula, Lipetsk regions. Foundation Mission — assistance to the neighbor, following the spiritual traditions of the society and the initiation of compatriots into these traditions. Charitable Foundation Sofia started in 1999 in the Kuntsevo district the Western area of Moscow, but in the last two years we have taken our program out of the city to 8 regions of Russia. The most vulnerable in our society are the veterans, the disabled, large families, families with disabled children. Our work covers if at all possible all facets of their lives. We help materially - cash payments, food parcels, new clothing and means of care - as well as provide spiritual and emotional support - providing free visits to theaters and museums, organizing tours and pilgrimage tours, making concert and tea party nights. In 2004, the Foundation launched a volunteer program in the orphanages and nursing homes, solving a dual problem. First, volunteers provide a special personal approach to wards based on the principles of love and mercy, which state staff can not provide, notwithstanding financial injections. Secondly, we are promoting social activism and involvement in charitable activities of citizens. Every month we hold up to 100 volunteer actions. A new developments in our work is corporate volunteering. The development of this trend is not only important in providing primary care at social institutions, but also has the opportunity to become the connecting thread between generations. This contributes to the maintenance of generally accepted ethical-moral standards, education and active citizenship. A new area for us is the project of corporate collection of clothing, i.e. collection of second-hand clothes of good quality in large companies to provide targeted assistance to social institutions in Russia. As a result of direct contact, there is the possibility of establishing a carer-caree relations which are not limited to a single action. Foundation Resource Center is able to receive and effectively distribute any number of charitable donations. A scheme of the receiving and distribution of donations, reporting and control with the local authorities and diocesan offices for charity has been worked out. We are working with commercial companies, both producers and wholesalers to provide charitable assistance to the needy.

In 2007 and 2008, large charitable donations in the form of means of care for the shoes (204 thousand pieces), care for the body (52 thousand pieces.) mineral water (10.5 thousand bottles), women's shoes (2.5 thousands of pairs), sets of children's cosmetics (1.5 thousand sets), coats (1.2 thousand) and 100 units of audio and video equipment were distributed among 33 social agencies in Russia, many of which in turn have up to 20 branches. Every month up to 250 people attend theaters and concert halls free. The second half of 2008 marked a major expansion of excursions - 34 organized trips to Moscow and Moscow region museums, estates and monasteries, as well as to Etnomir in the Kaluga Region with bus services (more than 500 people). Clothing collection and distribution outlet serves up to 10 individual visitors every week, and in 2008 collected and transferred to the social institutions of Russia 29 large consignments of clothing. Number of volunteer visits to ward nursing homes in 2008 was 1,281. More than 350 people proved themselves in 166 volunteer events. Our ward nursing home has become a base for the practice of students of social service institutes, staff of companies involved in corporate volunteering, as well as similar-minded people - participants in the course of personal growth. Foundation volunteers conduct up to 200 actions in Moscow orphanages every month. 40 volunteers participate in the program of individual coaching. More than 50 orphanages in Russia are part of our program of providing material support to orphanages. Our idea of finding sponsors to an orphanage was implemented in 2008. The popular Moscow club Solyanka in addition to club celebrations for orphans from Moscow Ilyinsky boarding school installed an expensive playground and sensory room for relaxation in the school, and regularly travels with volunteer visits. In 2008, our foundation received a grant from the Government of Moscow for the project of promoting healthy lifestyles through the integration of cultural and ethical roots ‘Let your heart to touch a heart ...». In ward schools and orphanages, children's social clubs have been set up in order to carry out good deeds, such as concert performances in nursing homes and hospitals, creating gifts and cards. Volunteers, wards and Foundation staff often give interviews to television programs and newspapers. The Foundation is actively forming environment where core values are a volunteer activity, compassionate attitude towards our neighbor, targeting the moral and spiritual values. For us, it is important to improve the public consciousness and awareness of the problems of social institutions and vulnerable citizens. The Foundation has received letters and certificates from ward organizations, as well as Kuntsevo and Fili-Davydkovo councils and WAD prefecture of Moscow.
