‘The price of clothing — Thank you’
(Improving the material conditions of socially vulnerable category of citizens through the provision of clothing assistance)
Statement of the problem and the rationale for the project:
Despite the constantly increasing level of material well-being of citizens of Russia, our country still has the needy, who find it difficult to allocate money from their budgets for buying clothes and shoes, and they are forced to accept second-hand clothes from charity. The existence of such a demand is indicated by the work of our clothing collection and distribution outlet for the last 8 years. Every week we are approached by up to 10 people as well as social institutions from all over Russia.
Most of the needy are in the province. To a large extent the work of our project is targeted at them.
The flow of philanthropists who want to donate second-hand clothing is growing, as a member of this program may be anyone of us. You only need to prepare things with love. In such a situation, the task of a Charitable Foundation is a clear organization of the collection and distribution of things.
It is also important for us to engage in charitable activities the general population, which will also be aided by this project. Starting with a small step, preparing and giving away an unnecessary thing, a person embraces the idea of good deeds, and in the future may become an active member of our compassionate society.
Recipients of charity care:
Social institutions and social organizations of Moscow, Moscow and other regions helping vulnerable groups (veterans, invalids, families with many children) and people who are in difficult situations, orphanages and nursing homes of Moscow and other regions; parishes of churches leading social work .
The aim of the project:
- The promotion of the improvement of material conditions of socially vulnerable category of citizens through the provision of clothing assistance;
- The promotion of social activism and involvement in charitable activities of citizens. The attraction of public resources to solve social problems.
Project Objectives:
- Organization of the collection of clothes from the population, its sorting and preparation, to form parcels for beneficiaries throughout Russia, and to ensure the work of a clothing collection and distribution outlet;
- Organization of the corporate collection of clothes in large companies to provide targeted assistance to social institutions in Russia. There are two options possible: 1. The company collects the clothing of various categories, gives it to the Foundation where it is sorted and further distributed to the beneficiaries and 2. The company collects clothing of a specific category for a specific social institution. As a result of direct contact, there is the possibility of establishing a carer-caree relations not limited to a single action. From our point of view, the later option is much more preferable;
- Renovation of the clothing collection and distribution outlet for decent public services (creation of two zones in the outlet: rest zone for waiting to be served - selection of clothing and working zone for clothing sorting and packing);
- Involvement in charitable activities of the general public to raise the moral level of public consciousness.
Resources of Charitable Foundation Sofia:
- Presence of a clothing collection and distribution outlet in Moscow (an area of 20 square meters). Here clothing is offered to the needy people, the sorting of collected clothes is done and parcels for social institutions in Russia, at their request are formed;
- The three-year experience in the supply of clothing to social institutions of Russia (PO of large families of Lyublino district of Moscow, Center for Family and Children Harmony of Borovsk in the Kaluga region, Community of released from prison in the village of Kostenko, Voronezh region, etc.).
- Availability of a database of beneficiaries needing obtaining clothing for their wards.
